Directions to Ramsey Canyon Preserve
and the Hamburg Trail
Directions to the
Ramsey Canyon Trailhead at the Ramsey Canyon Preserve:
It takes about an hour to get to the Ramsey Canyon
Trailhead. Drive south from Benson on AZ 90 toward Sierra
Vista. As you arrive in Sierra Vista AZ 90 turns due east
at a stop light. It is best to proceed straight ahead on
E. Buffalo Soldiers Trail due to lighter traffic. After
6.1 miles, turn south (right) onto AZ 92 east. Drive due
south for 3.0 miles and turn right onto E. Ramsey Canyon
Road. Drive toward the mountains. Drive up
Ramsey Canyon Road for 3.5 miles until it ends at the Ramsey
Canyon Preserve and the Nature Conservancy Visitor's Center. You
will see a sign for
Ramsey Canyon Preserve at the parking
lot. The parking space is a bit limited but it is
usually not too difficult on week days in the winter. To get
to the trailhead you need
to pay a fee ($6 in January 2014) and pass through the Visitor's
Center. See
Map. The address for the Nature Conservancy Visitor's
Center is:
Nature Conservancy
27 E. Ramsey Canyon Road
Hereford, AZ 85615
Just before you get to the Nature Conservancy, you will pass Arizona Folklore Preserve
on the left. This is a very special place where Arizona’s songs,
legends, poetry, and myths are collected and presented for
audiences of today, and preserved for the enrichment of future
generations. See the website at:

Then, make your reservations and enjoy some wonderful
entertainment in a truly special venue.
