Pictures of the Indian Cave
Pictographs
are painted onto a surface and tend to be very fragile and
susceptible to the elements. Thus, they are usually
found in caves and other protected locations. Petroglyphs are carved or
scratched into rock and are generally more stable.
This cave has clear examples of painted pictographs.
There are also a number of petroglyphs formed by
scratching into the smokey soot covered walls and ceiling
of the cave as well as some petroglyphs that have been
carved into the soft rock such that they stand in
relief.
